Assistant Professor, Economics and Finance

The Department of Accounting, Economics, and Finance at Louisiana State University New Orleans invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Economics and Finance to begin work in August 2027.

This position is a great opportunity to join a department with a long and strong history of serving the economics profession's needs in New Orleans and beyond.
The Department offers the BS and MS in Finance as well as a PhD in Financial Economics.

We have successfully placed more than 150 PhD graduates into universities across the United States and the world, as well as many into industry. These graduates have been very successful in publishing and thus gaining tenure at their respective universities.

Responsibilities
Teach four Finance classes per 9-month academic year (2-2 load) at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Our greatest need is to teach courses in International Finance, including a PhD Seminar and a PhD Seminar in Econometrics, so a strong preference will be given to applicants with those competencies and with demonstrated teaching skills.
Publish research suitable for acceptance in leading finance journals.
