The Department of Economics at San José State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Economics position beginning August 2027. We are particularly interested in candidates with research and teaching interests in Macroeconomics, International Economics, Forecasting in Big Data and Machine Learning, and AI Dynamic Modeling.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, maintain an active research agenda, mentor students, and contribute to departmental and university service. A demonstrated ability or strong potential to secure external research funding is highly desirable.
A Ph.D. in Economics is expected by the appointment date. Candidates should demonstrate effective teaching, research potential, and a commitment to student success.

Anticipated academic-year salary: $95,000–$105,000.
