Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Department of Economics at the University of California, Riverside, invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics. The appointment will be for one quarter (Fall 2026), beginning September 2026. Primary responsibilities will include teaching two graduate-level macroeconomics courses, specifically the first-year core sequence and a second-year elective in the Ph.D. program. The appointed candidate is expected to engage in scholarly and/or professional activities and participate in service to the department, college, university, and broader profession.
Applicants must be ABD or have met the requirements for a Ph.D. in Economics or a closely related field by the start of the appointment. Successful candidates should have a proven record or strong potential for excellence in teaching graduate-level macroeconomics. The salary for a Visiting Assistant Professor is $14,016 per course or $28,032 for two courses, dependent on qualifications and experience. This is a negotiated rate of pay and is not dependent on a UC salary scale.
