The Faculty of Political Science and Economics at Waseda University invites applications for a tenure-track or
tenured position in Empirical Economics (Any Field) to begin in the fall of 2027 or the spring of 2028 (or a mutually
agreed later date).

Professor (tenured), Associate Professor (tenured), Associate Professor (tenure-track), or Assistant Professor
(tenure-track)

Courses to teach:
Courses related to empirical economics and econometrics for both the School of Political Science and Economics
(Undergraduate Program) and the Graduate School of Economics (Master’s and Doctoral Programs).

Qualifications:
An outstanding research record in the field of empirical economics. In particular, research achievements in
the fields of education, environment, finance, healthcare, labor, and macroeconomic policy are desirable.
In addition to courses in their specialized field, the candidate should be able to teach econometrics at the
undergraduate and graduate levels.
Ability to teach courses in English. Ability to teach in Japanese is desirable but not required.
The candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to academic research and education.
Ph.D. in Economics or a relevant field by the time of appointment
