The Department of Economics at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for a tenured Full Professor position beginning in Fall 2027, with the possibility of an endowed, named chair, for a scholar whose research program will advance the mission of the university’s Poverty Initiative.

Candidates should have a record of research excellence with a strong emphasis on issues related to poverty, a proven capacity for leadership, evidence of superlative teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and a capacity to support and shape exciting new university programs. We especially seek candidates whose work has strong synergies with existing faculty research and initiatives across campus. Duties include research, teaching, and service. A PhD in Economics or a closely related field is required.
