The Department of Economics at Universidad del CEMA (www.ucema.edu.ar), Buenos Aires, Argentina, invites applications for a full-time position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor (open rank), beginning August 2027, or earlier by agreement.

Universidad del CEMA (UCEMA) is a Buenos Aires university specializing in economics, finance, and business, with a research-active faculty. The Department expects a major increase in its faculty over the coming years, and this position is one of several planned hires. Faculty may spend up to three months per year as visiting researchers at the Becker Friedman Institute (BFI), University of Chicago (January–March).

We seek an applied microeconomist with expertise in empirical methods and program evaluation (RCTs, quasi-experimental designs, cost-benefit analysis) and, if possible, artificial intelligence. Fields of interest: microeconometrics; law and economics; labor; poverty and inequality; health; human capital; public economics; behavioral economics; economics of crime; managerial economics; political economy. Interest or experience in applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning to economic research is a plus. The teaching load allows substantial time for research.

Teaching is mostly in Spanish; fluency in Spanish is required. Working proficiency in English is also required. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Economics by the start date but may be ABD when applying.
