St. Ambrose University is seeking a one-year, full-time replacement faculty member in economics and quantitative methods for its Mount Mercy campus in Cedar Rapids, starting August 2026. Preferred candidates hold a doctorate (ABD considered) or a master’s degree in economics or a related field, with university-level teaching experience viewed favorably.

The role involves teaching four lower-level, in-person courses in macroeconomics, microeconomics, and business-focused quantitative methods, with flexibility for online instruction. The successful candidate should support a learner-centered educational model, contribute to innovative and evidence-based teaching practices, and enhance student learning outcomes across business programs and the university.

This position is part of the ongoing merger between St. Ambrose University and Mount Mercy University, approved in 2025 and expected to be fully operational by fall 2026. The combined institution aims to improve efficiency, reduce administrative duplication, and strengthen academic offerings through innovation and student-focused initiatives.
