The successful candidate will join a USDA-funded project analyzing agricultural land use change in Florida, with a focus on the citrus sector. The project integrates parcel-level data, satellite-derived land cover, and economic indicators to study farmer decision-making under disease pressure, urbanization, and competing land uses.
The postdoctoral associate will develop and analyze large geospatial datasets, conduct econometric modeling of land use transitions, and contribute to policy-relevant research. Responsibilities include publishing in peer-reviewed journals, presenting findings, mentoring graduate students, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.
Applicants must hold a PhD in economics, agricultural economics, or a related field, with strong quantitative and programming skills (R and/or Python). Experience with geospatial data, causal inference, or land use modeling is preferred.
