Tecnológico de Monterrey, through the Center for the Future of Cities (CFC), invites applications for a Professor-Fellow position in Urban Economics. We seek outstanding candidates at the posdoctoral, early career faculty, or advanced doctoral stage with a strong interest in applied, policy-relevant urban economic research in Latin America.
This position aims to strengthen applied, policy-relevant research in Mexico at the intersection of urban economics, land use and public policy, with a particular focus on Mexican Cities. Key areas of interest include: affordable housing, zoning, cost of sprawl, property taxes, spatial equilibrium models.
Candidates are expected to have strong quantitative training and demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: urban economics, spatial analysis, econometrics, or general equilibrium modeling. A strong publication pipeline or clear potential for high-impact academic publishing is highly valued.
The position involves collaboration on large-scale applied projects, as well as contributions to both academic publications and policy-oriented outputs. Teaching responsibility is one class per term and will be held in the department of economics. Support for research is available.
We will consider candidates who will complete their Ph.D. by September 2026, as well as postdoctoral researchers and early-career faculty seeking a dynamic research environment.
