The Department of Economics in the University of Delaware Lerner College of Business and Economics invites applications for two visiting assistant professor positions starting August 15, 2026.

The teaching load is six one-semester courses per academic year. This is a one-year position.

The courses likely to be staffed across the two positions include Introductory Microeconomics, Introductory Macroeconomics, Money and Banking, Intermediate Macroeconomics, International Trade, and other intermediate core and field courses as needed. Classes are in person, meet 2 or 3 days per week, and likely range in size from 38 to 275.

The University of Delaware is in Newark, Delaware, just off I-95, roughly an hour from Philadelphia and Baltimore, and about 2 hours from New York and Washington, D.C. Amtrak (Northeast Regional) and SEPTA (Philadelphia regional rail) are within walking distance of campus.

UD is an R1 and the Economics department offers BA, BS, MA, MS, and PhD degrees. The department promotes a collegial, supportive environment and values candidates who share these values.

Ideal candidates will have a record of excellent teaching in undergraduate courses and preferably experience in teaching large courses.
