The potential candidate is expected to have as his/her primary research interests the field of digital financial assets (from cryptocurrencies and blockchain to stablecoins and central bank digital currencies). Example research areas include (but are not limited to): pricing of digital financial assets, token valuation methods, methods for working with blockchain data, analysis of the digital financial assets market segment (risk, liquidity, microstructure), cross-market effects, and regulation.

It is expected that the potential candidate will conduct cutting-edge research resulting in publications in high-impact scientific journals and/or practice-oriented projects, teach (in Russian) master’s and PhD-level courses on topics related to the economic and econometric aspects of cryptocurrencies, blockchain, and digital financial assets, and supervise master’s and doctoral research projects.

The candidate for this position may potentially lead a center for the study of blockchain/digital financial assets. The professorial budget includes not only salary but also funds for travel, data acquisition, books and equipment, an assistant, and stipends for students involved in research led by the holder of this position.
