The Department of Economics in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities at Northeastern University seeks to fill two full-time non-tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, or Full Teaching Professor, beginning August 17, 2026.

Primary teaching responsibility is macroeconomics, with particular emphasis on large sections of Principles of Macroeconomics. Candidates should also contribute to graduate-level macroeconomics courses (MS-level macroeconomic theory and, depending on qualifications, PhD-level macroeconomics). Secondary teaching interests in machine learning, computational economics, or data-intensive methods are valued, especially where they complement macroeconomic analysis.

Successful candidates must demonstrate strong commitment to teaching excellence, ability to manage large-enrollment courses, and willingness to contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching missions. Teaching load is six courses per academic year. Promotion opportunities available.

Requirements: Ph.D. in Economics or related field by start date. Strong teaching record or demonstrated promise required. Candidates for Associate or Full Teaching Professor should have comparable experience.
