Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Senior Policy Coordinator/Analyst is expected to play a leading role in delivering high-quality knowledge products and analysis on a wide range of economic issues.
1. Key Responsibilities
a. Develop guidelines and rules, and contribute to standardisation processes related to key economic issues in ASEAN and East Asia.
b. Design and coordinate processes for developing guidelines and standardisation procedures.
c. Engage with key stakeholders—such as governments, industry, academia, and other international and non-governmental organisations—through knowledge management, policy guidance, technical assistance, and capacity-building activities.
d. Provide strategic advice at regional and national levels by leading and facilitating ERIA’s engagement with policymakers in ASEAN and East Asia, while remaining up to date with emerging trends and best practices in the field.
e. Demonstrate strong communication and presentation skills, confidently engaging with diverse audiences and representing ERIA at international conferences, meetings, and symposiums as required.
f. Perform other related duties as assigned by the President, COO, Chief Economist, and/or other senior management officials.
2. Qualifications
a. Experience in formulating guidelines and communicating with governments or related organisations in ASEAN and East Asia.
b. At least five years of prior experience working on Asian economies.
c. An advanced degree in economics, public policy, public management, finance, the digital economy, development, or another relevant field.
d. A strong understanding of ASEAN co-operation mechanisms is highly desirable.
e. Strong analytical skills, with experience in economics and public policy in ASEAN and East Asia.
f. Excellent writing skills, with a proven record of delivering high-quality outputs.
g. Ability to present key findings effectively to public audiences.
h. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work harmoniously in a multicultural team.
i. Experience communicating with government officials in Asian countries and familiarity with regional working cultures are preferred.
3. Language
a. Excellent written and verbal proficiency in English.
b. Proficiency in East Asian languages would be an asset.
4. Working Conditions and Terms of Employment:
a. Salary and Benefits
ERIA offers an internationally competitive salary, including accommodation and education allowances. Salary is denominated in US dollars.
b. Term
The appointment is for a fixed term of one or two years, with the possibility of renewal up to a maximum of five years in total, subject to reappointment by the President, performance, and the availability of budget.
