The Department of Finance, Faculty of Economics and Business at Goethe University, is seeking to fill the position of a
Research Assistant (m/f/d)
Postdoc (E 13 TV-G-U)
at the earliest opportunity. The position is initially limited to three years. The salary grade is based on the job characteristics of the collective agreement applicable to Goethe-University (TV-G-U).
Requirements:
a successfully completed academic university degree (diploma/master's)
a successfully completed doctorate in finance or economics
an excellent research profile in finance, preferably with a clear empirical focus (e.g., demonstrated by publications, ongoing working papers, or presentations at workshops and conferences)
experience or interest in research with large microdata sets, for example, in the field of foreign exchange market microstructure or based on regulatory trading data
The position is particularly suitable for candidates who already have several projects or working papers to their name and would like to develop these further in preparation for the academic job market, while at the same time getting involved in new research activities with staff from the Finance Department at Goethe-University's Faculty of Economics. Solid German language skills are an advantage.
The duties include teaching (2 LVS), scientific services in the research area of the Finance Department, working group-specific organization and academic self-administration, as well as self-directed research.
