The School of Economics, Beijing Technology and Business University, originated from the Business Economics Department of the former Beijing Institute of Commerce. The school offers 9 undergraduate programs, 2 first-level discipline master's degree-awarding programs in Applied Economics and Theoretical Economics, and 6 professional master's degree programs. There are over 3,300 domestic and international students studying at the school, among whom the international students come from over 30 countries around the world. There are currently 172 faculty members, including 145 full-time teachers. Among them, over 80 teachers have had visiting scholar experiences abroad.
The school is promoting the digital transformation of business education, and advancing the construction of the applied economics discipline cluster with digital finance and elderly finance, digital finance and digital taxation, digital economy and digital trade.
According to the needs of teaching and research, the School of Economics plans to recruit 4 to 6 doctoral or postdoctoral researchers who have graduated from renowned universities at home and abroad in Applied Economics and Theoretical Economics. Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D degree or postdoctoral exit certificate by July 2026 and to have promising research capabilities. Interviews will be conducted virtually at a time to be advised.
