The School of Public Affairs (SPA) at American University is seeking applications for a full-time, postdoctoral fellow beginning on or around July 1, 2026. The hire will work with Professor Brandyn Churchill on projects examining the role of federal funding in reducing the prevalence of obesity.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. (or Ph.D. expected by June 2026), as well as relevant empirical research and training in applied microeconomics, public policy, or a related field.
The initial appointment is for 12 months beginning on or around July 1, 2026, depending on the candidate's qualifications and carries the possibility of a 1-year renewal. There is no teaching required. The salary for this position will be wholly generated through externally funded research activities. The expected salary range is $70,000 - $80,000 per year. Funding to support the Fellow’s research may be available for projects aligned with the grant’s mission.
