LUMS is Pakistan's premier academic institution. The Department of Economics at LUMS is a fast-growing department of international standard and seeks rising and distinguished scholars to fill several permanent and contractual vacancies. The Department is actively seeking candidates who specialize in Macroeconomics and related fields. Strong candidates in other fields will also be considered.
The department has a strong commitment to addressing pressing national and global issues, particularly focusing on growth, macroeconomic stability, resilience, inclusion, and environmental sustainability, which are critical to the region’s economic and social landscape. The department places high value on quality teaching and research and serves as an intellectual resource base that plays an important role in the making of public policy. The department co-organizes an annual international conference, fostering scholarly exchange and research collaboration. The university supports research through grants for both research projects and conference participation and houses several research centers that promote interdisciplinary collaboration. The medium of instruction is English.
