The Department of Economics at Metropolitan State University of Denver invites applications for one full-time, Assistant Professor tenure-track position beginning Fall 2026. Preferred candidates will have (1) teaching and research interests in monetary theory and policy—especially the political economy and institutional design of U.S. central banking, including topics such as rules-based policy, monetary disequilibrium, nominal GDP targeting, or alternative monetary arrangements; and (2) teaching and research interests situated within the history of economic ideas as they relate to monetary institutions and public choice analysis. Responsibilities include teaching Money & Banking/Monetary Economics and contributing to Principles of Macroeconomics and Intermediate Macroeconomics; ability to offer U.S. Economic History is desirable. Candidates should be prepared to teach introductory and online courses, maintain an active research agenda suitable for peer-reviewed outlets, and serve the department, college, university, and community. The normal load is 12 credit hours per semester. Ph.D. in Economics by August 1, 2026, required.
