Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) is hiring two new or experienced PhD economists to join the team as Research Economists for the departments of Monetary Policy, and Monetary Operations and Financial Stability. The position is oriented toward conducting high-quality policy-oriented research that supports macroeconomic analysis and policy decisions on monetary policy and financial stability, while also carrying out other duties determined by the institution.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Economics, Finance, or a related field. Candidates who are ABD (All but Dissertation) will also be considered, provided they can certify a successful dissertation defense date by the end of September 2026.
Candidates must possess a strong background in economic theory and experience in empirical and/or theoretical research in some of the following areas: capital markets, digital currencies, econometrics, finance, international economics, macroeconomics, monetary policy, and payment systems.
Although research papers may be written in English, candidates should have Spanish speaking, reading, and writing skills.
