Assistant Professor of Economics and Business—Quantitative & Applied Economics

Hampden–Sydney College invites applications for a full–time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Economics and Business to begin in July of 2026. A Ph.D. in economics or a related quantitative field (with at least 18 hours of graduate level economics) is required. Applicants may be ABD but should expect to complete the Ph.D. by the start date and must provide evidence of teaching experience.

Candidates should be prepared to teach courses in one or more of the following areas: Research methods, managerial decision making, applied public policy, intermediate microeconomics, and econometrics/forecasting.

Hampden–Sydney College values the teacher/scholar model, with a 3-3 course load typical. Successful applicants will have a record of effective classroom teaching, a commitment to scholarly productivity, and a willingness to work with colleagues on professional service responsibilities.
