The Institute of Population and Human Capital at Yonsei University invites applications for Postdoctoral Fellows. We welcome qualified candidates interested in population and human capital research.
Main Responsibilities
– Research migration, family, inequality, education, health, and aging.
– Use large-scale administrative data (e.g., NHIS) for empirical analyses.
– Support research projects, organize materials, and assist with book projects.
– Supervise master’s students and prepare teaching materials.
– Develop and lead independent research aligned with Institute priorities.
Research topics will match each fellow’s expertise and be conducted in collaboration with faculty members, including Hyuncheol Bryant Kim (main supervisor), Hee-Seung Yang, Jongkwan Lee, and Youjin Hahn (Yonsei University), and Jungmin Lee and Jisoo Hwang (Seoul National University).
Qualifications
– Ph.D. in economics or a related field (expected by August 31, 2026).
– Strong background in applied microeconomics, preferably with research on migration, education, or inequality.
– Experience with large administrative datasets (e.g., NHIS) preferred.
Selection and Appointment
– Screening includes document review and interviews.
– Appointment begins September 1, 2026 (negotiable) for one year, renewable annually up to three years.
– The Institute may withhold appointment if no suitable candidate is found or if the submitted information is inaccurate.
