Pomona College seeks to hire an economist whose primary research interests are in macroeconomics. Qualified candidates should complete their Ph.D. by the start date, July 1, 2026. The preferred candidate will start at the rank of assistant professor; although advanced assistants and early associate professors with evidence of teaching effectiveness and research excellence will also be considered.

Faculty at Pomona College teach two courses per semester and are expected to advise students and engage with service in the department and college. Faculty are also expected to maintain an active research portfolio. The College offers many forms of support for scholarship, including a full-year, pre-tenure research leave in the fourth year, after a successful third-year review.

Founded in 1887, Pomona College is the founding member of the Claremont Colleges, a unique constellation of five small contiguous undergraduate colleges and two graduate institutions located in southern California, about 35 miles east of Los Angeles. Students at the Claremont Colleges can cross-register for courses at any of the colleges, and faculty and staff across the colleges often collaborate. Currently, the Department of Economics consists of 13 tenured or tenured track faculty members, and there are more than 50 economists at the Claremont Colleges.
