The Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Lausanne (HEC Lausanne) invites applications for a full-time position as

Full, Associate, or Assistant Professor (Tenure track) in Finance Information

Start date: August 1st, 2026, or on a mutually agreed date.

Activity rate: 100%

Workplace: Extranef, Lausanne

Assistant Professors on tenure track are hired for a two-year term, renewable twice on the recommendation of the Dean's Office (the maximal length of the tenure track period is therefore 6 years). An evaluation procedure is initiated at the earliest after 2.5 years (fast track) and at the latest after 4.5 years. If the evaluation turns out to be positive, the Faculty proposes to the Direction of UNIL that the candidate be promoted to the rank of Associate Professor.

Your Qualifications

Candidates must hold a PhD in the areas of Economics, Finance or Management and demonstrate the ability to publish in leading Finance journals. If a PhD in the aforementioned areas is not yet available, eligible candidates must be in ABD (“all-but-dissertation”) status. All research specializations in Finance are admissible.

The new professor will be a member of the Department of Finance of HEC Lausanne. The Department is affiliated with the Swiss Finance Institute, a Swiss based research organization aiming at the establishment of the prominent European competence center in finance. Teaching experience at the university level (Bachelor's and Master's) is an asset.
