The Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER) of The University of Osaka invites applications for a few positions: Assistant Professor (tenure-track), Associate Professor (tenure-track), Associate Professor (tenured), or Professor (tenured). The position will be decided based on the applicant's qualifications.
Qualifications: For the tenured position, the successful candidate must hold a degree equivalent to a Ph.D., have a competitive publication record in economics or related fields, be able to teach in either English or Japanese, and be proficient in Japanese for the administrative duties.
For the tenure-track position, the successful candidate must hold or be expected to hold a degree equivalent to a Ph.D. in economics or related fields before the appointment date and be able to teach in either English or Japanese. Once tenure is granted, proficiency in Japanese will be required for the administrative duties.
Starting Date: June 1, 2026 or later
(upon negotiation, subject to adjustment based on visa application process)
