Goucher College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor of Economics beginning August 2026. A Ph.D. in Economics at the time of appointment is required and prior teaching experience is preferred. We are seeking an applied microeconomist who can contribute broadly at all levels of the curriculum, and specifically econometrics and our capstone course. We also have a particular interest in candidates who can either contribute new elective courses to our course catalog or offer elective courses in the following areas: education, crime, inequality, game theory, history of thought, or international economics.

Finally, the candidate should be eager to contribute to the Goucher Commons Curriculum through first year seminar or complex problem exploration courses and be committed to teaching and scholarship in a liberal arts environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching students from a wide range of backgrounds. The teaching load is 3-2 (20 credits).
