The Department of Economics invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in labor and/or health economics and applied econometrics, starting August 2026. Advanced assistant professors are welcome to apply.
Candidates must have a PhD in economics by August 24, 2026, and show evidence of high potential for excellence in teaching and significant research publishable in quality peer-reviewed economics journals. The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate-level classes, including applied econometrics, labor economics, applied microeconomics, and applied game theory. Other upper-level and graduate-level courses depend on the candidate’s areas of specialty and departmental needs. The successful candidate will have a willingness and ability to become proficient in teaching data analytics using programming languages such as SAS, R, and Python. Additional responsibilities include advising students, leading students’ capstone senior project, assisting in curriculum development, and participating in other departmental activities as assigned by the department chair.
