The Department of Economics at Florida State University, along with the Florida Institute for Governance and Civics (IGC), invite applications for a tenured position at the associate or full professor rank. This position will be full-time, 9-month, within the Department of Economics, with a joint affiliation in the IGC. The anticipated start date is August 2026.

We seek outstanding candidates whose research is policy relevant and explores how economic, political, and legal institutions influence outcomes. Candidates who possess experience with public-facing civic/economic initiatives are desired.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to research and scholarship through high quality publications in top-tier venues. Duties include teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels and service responsibilities. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to contribute to the intellectual life and programmatic development of the IGC.


Minimum Qualifications:

• A Ph.D. in Economics or equivalent terminal degree at the time of appointment;
• A clear record of research productivity, appropriate to the rank being sought;
• An established record of successful teaching at the university level, commensurate with the rank being sought, and a demonstrated ability to teach and participate in the Department’s undergraduate and graduate programs.
