Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Department of Economics in the Sam M Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas invites applications for an open rank tenured or tenure-track (based on credentials) position beginning on August 10, 2026. We look to complement the department’s strength in applied microeconomics, microeconometrics, and behavioral economics. The college provides competitive compensation and resources for research, including start-up packages.
Regular on-campus availability, in-person teaching, and active contribution to the life of the department, including exhibiting respect and cooperation in shared academic and administrative tasks are essential duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in economics with an emphasis in applied microeconomics, to be conferred by the start of employment
Potential to produce high quality academic research in leading journals and secure external research funding
Commitment to high quality teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels
Preferred Qualifications:
Research focus in one or more of the following fields: behavioral, education, health, labor, public and urban economics
Works on key issues addressing U.S. domestic policies
