Post-Doctoral Associate, Yale Research Initiative on Innovation and Scale (Y-RISE), The MacMillan Center, Yale University

Description
The Yale Research Initiative on Innovation and Scale (Y-RISE) at the Whitney and Betty MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies at Yale University seeks to appoint a Post-Doctoral Associate starting AY 2025-2026, with a possibility of renewal for up to 3 years, conditional on satisfactory progress and performance. Candidates must have research and training experience in social sciences or public policy.

This position will focus on developing a research and policy agenda focused on the complexities that arise when taking development interventions to scale. With the complexities of scale as a central interest, research and policy activities may span a broad range of topics such as water, sanitation, and hygiene; migrant integration and livelihoods; electrification, energy and the environment; agricultural extensions; transportation; housing and infrastructure; reducing gender-based violence; delivery of physical health, mental health, and education services; climate change adaptation; and income generation. The successful candidate will work closely with Ahmed Mushfiq Mobarak and have the opportunity to collaborate with leading researchers who are part of the Y-RISE affiliate network. The salary for this position is commensurate with experience and complies with the Yale Office of Postdoctoral Affairs compensation policy and includes a benefits package.


The responsibilities in this position could include, but are not limited to:
• Developing new research projects in partnership with Y-RISE
• Engaging in research and primary data collection activities in partnership with Y-RISE
• Teaching one or two courses at Yale each year

Requirements:
• A Ph.D. in economics, public policy, or other quantitative social science disciplines such as political science, demography by the time of appointment.
• Attention to detail and advanced writing and presentation skills for communicating policy lessons.
