Stanford University: 2026–2027 Japan Program Postdoctoral Fellowship
The Japan Program at Stanford University’s Walter H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center is pleased to announce its search for a 2026-2027 Japan Program Postdoctoral Fellow on contemporary Japan. The award will be made to one junior scholar (recent PhDs must have degree conferral and approval by June 30, 2026) for research and writing on Japan.
The primary focus of the fellowship is multidisciplinary research including, but not limited to the areas of political science, economics, sociology, law, policy studies, and international relations of Japan. The postdoctoral fellowship is a 10-month appointment with a salary rate commensurate with university policies, plus up to $3,000 for research expenses. Appointments will begin in the fall quarter of the 2026-2027 academic year.
