The Dean’s Office at the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University, in collaboration with the Stanford Initiative for Financial Decision Making (IFDM), is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time academic staff – teaching (Lecturer) position.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in personal finance at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

These courses cover topics such as the basics of financial literacy and how individuals make financial decisions in areas such as saving, budgeting, credit use, insurance, and investing. The curriculum is designed to equip students with rigorous knowledge to navigate today’s complex financial landscape.

The Lecturer will also contribute to the design and development of teaching materials for various programs aligned with the mission of IFDM, covering personal finance, household finance, and financial education. This position will also serve as the focal point for a network of college/university instructors teaching personal finance.

The position is for a 1-year fixed-term with the possibility of renewal. A PhD in Economics, Finance, or a related discipline is required. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in teaching in a college or graduate-level setting. Experience in course design and pedagogy is also highly valued.
