This is a faculty position in the Department of Agribusiness and Applied Economics, and will also serve as the Director of the Center for Trading and Risk. They will be tenured and hired at Associate or Full Professor rank. The position is a 9-month academic year, and split 70% research and 30% teaching.
The candidate will be expected to develop leadership in the department's research and teaching programs. Teaching responsibility would depend on the needs of the department and the Center. The candidate would be expected to teach two courses in commodity marketing, with an emphasis on risk.
Minimum requirements: earned Ph.D. in agricultural economics, or related disciplines; experience in teaching and research in Agribusiness or Commodity Trading and Risk; expertise in agribusiness risk and quantitative methods; effective oral and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to conduct research and disseminate results in leading academic journals.
Preferred qualifications: evidence of teaching effectiveness; ability to supervise MS and Ph.D. students; ability to obtain extramural funding to support research activities; ability to communicate research results to clientele groups; demonstrated consistent and excellent contributions to research and publication, and scholarship; a record of externally funded research in agricultural economics, agribusiness, finance and/or risk analysis.
