The SCALE Medicaid Lab at Yale, led by Profs. Ndumele and Wallace, partners with state Medicaid agencies to enhance program efficiency and effectiveness through data-driven solutions. We generate research, support state decision-making, foster academic-policy collaborations, and provide practical support to states navigating evolving challenges.

The Research Translation Manager will guide projects that bridge the gap between Medicaid research and policy. This includes hands-on project management, communications, and operational support across initiatives involving faculty, government leaders, and Medicaid agencies. The position ensures research translates into actionable policy solutions.

This role will build long-term infrastructure, develop scalable frameworks for state engagement, and institutionalize best practices in Medicaid policy research and implementation. Activities include delivering research insights to policymakers, developing communications materials, translating research for non-technical audiences, organizing policy conferences, managing external relationships, supporting fundraising, and providing strategic and operational support.

We seek candidates with knowledge of health policy, Medicaid administration, economics or statistics, and impact evaluation. Candidates must be strong project managers, strategic thinkers, effective communicators, and passionate about using research to improve public programs.

Principal Responsibilities include managing SCALE's day-to-day operations, creating project plans and budgets; building and coordinating cross-sector working groups, and leading development of communications strategies and materials.
