Position Description:

This is a grant-funded, non-tenure-track position with an appointment through July 31, 2027. The post-doctoral researcher will support data management, analysis, and the development of academic papers. Additional responsibilities include mentoring research assistants and team members, and presenting project findings at professional conferences, seminars, and workshops. This position reports to Dr. Qingxiao Li, Assistant Professor, and may include other related duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:

Ph.D. in Applied/Agricultural Economics, Economics, or related field completed by July 2025. Candidates should demonstrate strong theoretical and empirical research skills, along with the ability to effectively communicate research findings through both writing and presentations. Evidence of research interest in at least one of the following areas is required: food prices, index number theory, or U.S. food markets.

Desired Qualifications:

Familiarity with the Administrative Data Research Facility (ADRF)

Experience working with high-frequency retailer and household scanner data

Strong background in applied econometrics, statistical modeling, and high-dimensional data analysis

Proficiency in R and/or Python for data processing and econometric analysis

Proficiency in SQL for database management and querying

Knowledge of index number theory and its application in price measurement

Experience with supercomputing systems for large-scale data processing and computational modeling
