The Department of Population Health at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine invites applications for a postdoctoral research fellow position. The fellow will lead independent research to advance their portfolio and publication record in health economics and policy. They will primarily collaborate with Dr. Sunita Desai, with opportunities to work with other faculty as well. The postdoctoral fellow selected for this opportunity will have access to extensive data within NYU. In particular, Dr. Desai’s lab currently has funded projects using Medicare claims (fee-for-service and Medicare Advantage) and Medicaid MAX/T-MSIS. The fellow will lead research on topics such as drug pricing policy, payment policy, and consolidation in the health care system.

This position is designed as a two-year appointment aimed at preparing the fellow for a successful transition into a tenure-track academic role. The fellow will also benefit from dedicated mentorship and a range of professional development resources to support their academic growth and career advancement.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in health policy/economics/health services research/public policy/a related field; demonstrated experience in health economics research with a solid understanding quasi-experimental methods; excellent writing and oral presentation skills; and strong data management and analytical skills, including proficiency in working with large datasets.
