Job Description
The IDE seeks to hire a Postdoctoral Associate to work on understanding how human judgment is affected when AI is involved in decision-making and how human trust in AI is affected by the context, framing, and features of AI use. The work will extend current research on identifying the benefits and drawbacks of friction at touchpoints in the AI usage experience to improve the trustworthiness of these systems, and the implications for user behavior, work, innovation, and experience. These projects will be in collaboration with Renée Richardson Gosline and organizations that seek to collaborate on this endeavor.

The focus will be broadly on AI, but specifically explore GenAI and applied AI tools. This research agenda focuses on understanding and measuring the impact of AI on human users and the factors that affect adoption of these tools. The implications for managers, potential governance, and user welfare are critical.

Requirements
Highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with: (1) extensive experience in causal inference, experiment design, and statistical modeling; (2) familiarity with the literatures on behavioral economics, algorithmic aversion and appreciation; and (3) interest in AI and the welfare of its users. Must be able to work well with academics and industry executives alike. English language skills (verbal and written) and communication skills must be strong. PhD in Management Science, Behavioral Science, Statistics, or related fields with the Doctorate conferred prior to start date.
