The School of Economics and Business at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana is seeking motivated candidates for at least three tenure-track positions at the assistant professor level. We welcome applicants across all fields of economics, finance, accounting, management, and marketing, with particular interest in those specializing in macroeconomics, health economics, development economics, and addressing critical global challenges, such as sustainability, social inclusion, digital transformation, conflict, and global governance. Candidates must have completed all Ph.D. requirements by July 2024.
The Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, consistently ranked among Colombia’s top universities by Times Higher Education, offers a dynamic academic environment. The School of Economics and Business comprises three departments —Accounting, Business, and Economics— dedicated to fostering high-quality research and innovative teaching.
We are particularly interested in candidates who:
Demonstrate potential for high-impact publications in leading academic journals.
Possess strong skills in securing research grants from national and international funding agencies.
Are enthusiastic about mentoring students and collaborating with junior research assistants.
Can contribute to advancing the school’s focus on critical global challenges through interdisciplinary research and initiatives.
We offer competitive incentives for publication and research productivity, generous research funding opportunities and institutional support for securing external grants, a vibrant academic community committed to addressing global and local challenges.
Successful candidates will typically teach one core undergraduate course and one graduate course per semester in their area of expertise. Courses are conducted in both Spanish and English; therefore, we encourage non-Spanish-speaking applicants to apply, with the understanding that learning Spanish will be essential for effective teaching and departmental engagement.
The university is strongly committed to fostering an equitable and inclusive environment, ensuring fair treatment and equal access to opportunities for all faculty members.
Remote interviews with potential candidates will commence on January 22, 2025. Applications submitted by the January 15 deadline will be prioritized, though submissions will continue to be considered until the position is filled.
