Position: The Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics (AEDE) at The Ohio State University seeks a distinguished scholar in economics at the Associate or Full Professor rank to hold the C. William Swank Chair in Rural-Urban Policy. The successful candidate’s work shall “focus on the economic and/or legal dimensions of the rural and urban interface, including issues relating to farming on the urban fringe, quality of life, externalities and environmental regulations, management, and the industrialization of agriculture.” Scholars specializing in agricultural, environmental, regional, energy, or urban economics are encouraged to apply. This position is structured as 50% research, 25% teaching, and 25% outreach, with responsibilities including national research leadership, teaching/advising undergraduate and graduate students, and outreach within Ohio with groups such as agricultural leaders and urban-rural policy and decision makers.
