Working in a collaborative team environment, we conduct economic research and perform a wide array of analyses to monitor economic conditions in the nation and region, learn about consumer and firm behavior, and gauge expectations on a number of important economic indicators such as inflation, unemployment, and household finances to inform policymakers and the public.
Your Role as a Data Analytics Specialist:
-Leverage your technical skills to unleash the power of microdata and uncover new insights.
-Coordinate the process used to produce important policy-relevant, public-facing research products such as the Survey of Consumer Expectations.
-Use econometrics, statistics, and other analytical tools to assemble, manage, and analyze data, and generate compelling visuals to effectively communicate complex findings.
-Contribute to the writing of impactful publications and preparation of highly visible presentations, ensuring the highest standards of quality and integrity.
-Collaborate closely with respected economists on quantitative and qualitative economic research projects.
-You will be a critical part of a team committed to learning and will develop new skills keeping you on the cutting edge of economics, data science, and statistical analysis.
What we are looking for:
-The ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and independently, as required.
-Training, experience, and deep interest in economics, econometrics, statistics, and/or data analytics.
-Experience in data analysis using STATA.
-Initiative and good project management skills including the ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities, often under strict deadlines.
-High attention to detail as well as highly developed organizational skills.
-Experience with other statistical software (e.g., R, SAS), other computer programming languages (e.g., C++, Julia, Matlab, Python, SQL) or bash scripting will be considered a plus.
-Experience working with survey data, designing survey questionnaires, and/or fielding surveys or field experiments will be considered a plus.
-Graduate training in economics will be considered a plus.
-Demonstrated interest in or experience with empirical research will be considered a plus.
