The National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher in development economics and the economics of education. The US-based researcher will lead a randomized evaluation of strategies to improve primary school teaching in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. Responsibilities include survey design, supervision of field staff, data collection, and analysis of the study’s results. The position offers the opportunity to use the large administrative and primary data to conduct independent work. The researcher will be supervised and mentored by five leading professors in development economics.

Candidates must have a PhD or be ABD in economics or a related field and have strong quantitative and data skills. Applicants should also demonstrate a strong interest in development economics and the economics of education.
