Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) has embarked on an ambitious journey to carry out disruptive innovations in higher education in India. We have experimented with curriculum, student affairs, faculty recruitment, academic leadership, and interdisciplinarity. Our faculty members graduated from the world’s leading institutes, and most of them have international exposure. Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) department is central to IITGN’s educational framework and plays a critical role in our students' academic experience. For its sustainable and modern campus, IITGN has won the International Green University Award 2023, which was presented by the Green Mentors, USA.

We are looking for faculty applicants across various areas with a passion for teaching, demonstrated excellence in research, and for providing leadership to various initiatives and programs of IITGN. We particularly encourage and invite applications from the underrepresented groups, with a focus in areas such as Macroeconomics and Financial Economics, among other areas of Economics such as Monetary Economics, Computational Methods and Environmental Economics. We are also open to receiving applications from other Social Sciences fields that use cutting-edge Quantitative Methods.
