Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Department of Economics in the Sam M Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of assistant professor beginning in Fall 2025. In addition to competitive compensation, the college provides resources including start-up packages and excellent technical support.

Required Qualifications: (1) A doctoral degree in economics with a field in applied microeconomics or microeconometrics; (2) the potential to produce high quality academic research in leading journals and secure external research funding; (3) a commitment to high quality teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants are expected to have earned a Ph.D. in economics by the start of employment.

Preferred Qualifications: Research focus that overlaps with one or more of the following fields: urban economics, development economics, education, health, labor, and behavioral and experimental economics. These areas complement the current faculty’s teaching and research interests.

Regular on-campus availability, in-person teaching, and active contribution to the life of the department, including exhibiting respect and cooperation in shared academic and administrative tasks are essential duties.
