The Department of Economics at the University of Tennessee invites applicants for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor with appointment to begin August 1, 2025. We are particularly interested in candidates who have a research agenda in applied and theoretical econometrics and can teach econometrics at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Responsibilities include high quality research, graduate and undergraduate instruction, and a commitment to fostering the goals of the department, college, and university. A PhD in Economics or a closely related field is required at the time of appointment or expected to be completed by the date of hire.
The Department of Economics is one of seven departments within the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee. The department faculty have expertise in a wide range of fields and place a high value on diversity and collegiality. The department has a vibrant Ph.D. program, and strong ties to the Boyd Center for Business and Economic Research and the Baker School of Public Policy and Public Affairs. The faculty publish high quality research, and many are editors, past editors, or editorial board members of leading journals.
