The Department of Economics at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant or Associate (with tenure) Professor to begin August 11, 2025.

The successful candidate for this position will engage in high quality research, teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and participate in departmental governance and service activities. In addition to our undergraduate program in economics, the department offers an M.S. in Economics program and plays a key role in the Ph.D. in Business Administration with a Concentration in Finance, the Ph.D. in Public Policy, and the M.S. in Mathematical Finance programs. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality instruction in one or more of these programs depending on the candidate’s fields of specialization.

Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with research interests in macroeconomics and strong quantitative and econometric skills. Candidates should have a completed doctorate in Economics or a related field by the start of the appointment and must meet academic qualifications as described in the Belk College Policy on Qualified Faculty Status. Those applying for an assistant position should provide evidence of the potential for high-quality research and teaching. Those applying for an associate position should provide evidence of high-quality research and teaching, as a selected candidate at this rank will go through the tenure process as outlined in the Belk College Policies and Procedures for Reappointment, Promotion, and Grant of Permanent Tenure.
