Full Text of JOE Listing:
The University of Alaska Anchorage Department of Economics is searching for a bright creative scholar with interests in applied microeconomics. Areas of emphasis can include natural resource and development economics, environmental economics, public economics, urban economics, disaster risk management. Preference will be given to candidates with strong training in applied microeconomics. Responsibilities include 1) engaging in high quality research that informs public policy and that leads to publications in top journals, and 2) working collaboratively on research projects with members of the Department of Economics. Salary will be $70,000 per year. The successful candidate will also receive a generous benefits package, relocation funds, and a $5000 annual research/travel budget. Funding is from an endowed chair and is not dependent upon state appropriations. The appointment is for one year, renewable for a second year subject to satisfactory performance.

3. A writing sample demonstrating the ability to conduct high-quality economic research and communicate the results effectively.
