The Department of Economics and Business at Southwestern University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Economics/Finance beginning fall 2025. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise/teaching experience in areas such as Finance, Investments, Financial Statement Analysis, Financial Modeling, or other data-related courses relevant to Economics and Business majors. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting Southwestern’s distinctive Financial Analyst Program, in which students manage a $2.5 million endowed fund. The department values applications from those able to contribute to the university’s interdisciplinary programs in Environmental Studies, International Studies, Latin American and Border Studies, Race and Ethnicity Studies, and Feminist Studies, and a variety of interdisciplinary minors including Data Analytics. Additionally, candidates should be prepared to engage with high-impact student experiences such as First-Year Seminar, Capstone, study abroad, undergraduate research, and community-engaged learning. The typical teaching load is a 3/2. Southwestern University offers research funding opportunities to support professional development. Faculty are expected to maintain an active research program leading to peer-reviewed publications, participating in university service and academic advising, and demonstrating a commitment to equity and inclusiveness in all aspects of their work.
