The Community Development and Regional Outreach department is hiring a Community Development Economic Advisor who conducts independent applied research and produces rigorous research on topics relevant to workforce development, labor markets, or economic development. The economic advisor is expected to:

• Conduct independent research and produces highly specialized original research with a focus on workforce development, labor markets, or economic development

• Work with high degree of independence in area of expertise and contributes to Reserve Bank's objective of becoming a knowledge center by writing, giving speeches and talking to outside audiences, and by contributing to Reserve Bank research projects.

• Mentor and direct research activities of junior research staff in the department, as assigned

• Develop relationships with other researchers and practitioners in the areas of expertise

Education and Experience:

• A minimum of master’s degree in economics, public policy, or another quantitative social science discipline is required and a Ph.D. in relevant discipline is preferred.

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant research-related experience in the area of community development and/or economics is required.

• Previous experience in giving speeches and presentations on community development or related economic topics a plus.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Exceptional skills in research methodologies and analytical analysis. Thorough knowledge of and ability to independently apply economic theory and quantitative techniques. Strong knowledge of information management techniques.

• Strong knowledge of employment, financial, and economic data and general knowledge of banking and bank regulations.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

This is not a 100% remote opportunity. You will be available to work on-site in at least a hybrid capacity.
