Otago Business School

The Department of Economics is part of the AACSB- and EQUIS-accredited Otago Business School and is a research-intensive department with healthy Undergraduate, Masters, and PhD programmes. The Department values both excellent teaching and research and provides the resources and opportunities for lecturers to achieve both, including teaching loads that allow significant time for research.

The successful applicant will participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision of postgraduate research students at Master’s, DBA and PhD level. Candidates will be expected to develop an independent and productive research programme.

We seek applicants with expertise in any field of Economics. Candidates will also have:
• A PhD degree in Economics (essential).
• Proven track record of publication in high-quality journals.
• Success in obtaining external research funding.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Candidates who have not yet fully developed these skills and experience should provide evidence of their potential to do so.

Full-time (1 FTE), permanent position.

Appointment range for Lecturer/Senior Lecturer is $90,902 to $138,182.

Candidates with less than two years post PhD are requested to provide a letter of recommendation from their supervisor.
