Wofford College invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor in the Department of Economics to begin in fall 2024. The position may be extended to a second year depending on the individual’s performance and the college’s need.

Expectations

The teaching load will be four courses per semester, with four sections of introductory macroeconomics in the fall. Courses for the spring semester will be determined in consultation with the hired candidate. This candidate will not be required to teach during the college’s Interim, which runs the entire month of January.

Qualifications

The preferred candidate will have a Ph.D. However, consideration will be extended to ABD candidates and individuals with a master's degree who have completed 18 graduate credit hours in economics or a closely related field. Qualified candidates with experience teaching introductory macroeconomics will be given preference. Please note that Wofford College is not able to sponsor work visas. Interested candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
