The University of Missouri seeks an experienced and highly accomplished scholar for the Sam. B. Cook Chair in Economics. This endowed chair was established for the purpose of enhancing the teaching and study of free market economics at the University of Missouri. The ideal candidate will focus on issues such as: economic growth, business fluctuations, monetary and fiscal policy, taxation, and/or other government policies that affect macroeconomic performance in free market economies; and will teach undergraduate courses such as Principles of Macroeconomics. Candidates will be considered at the level of senior Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor; compensation and teaching load are highly competitive.

We encourage applications from scholars with demonstrated excellence in research, service, and teaching; who conduct empirical and policy relevant research in applied macroeconomics, international economics, macroeconometrics, public economics, or regulation with a record of: publications in leading journals, external funding, and a national reputation for scholarly accomplishments manifest in citations, awards, advisory and editorial positions, etc. Candidates should also have a record of (or potential for) excellence in mentoring and teaching students from diverse backgrounds; as well as contributing enthusiastically to university and public service.
